Rita Stubbs- Head Women’s Volleyball Coach

Arizona volleyball alum Charita Stubbs was named Arizona’s fourth head coach in January of 2023. She has spent 19 years (1997 to 2005 and 2013-2022) on David Rubio’s coaching staff at Arizona. Stubbs coached at Arizona following an all-conference career at U of A from 1990-1994. Arizona has made the NCAA tournament in 14 of Stubbs’ 19 years on staff.

Stubbs is highly involved in youth club volleyball; she currently serves as head coach for the Zona Volleyball Club’s 16-1 Team. Stubbs also served as an assistant coach for the U.S. Junior National team that qualified for the 2001 World Championships in Mexico. In addition, Stubbs has twice served as an assistant coach of the Pac-12 All-Star Team, which competed in China in 2014 and 2016 and has guided the Arizona High Performance Youth team since 2013.

Charita is the first player in University of Arizona history to record 300 kills, 300 digs and 100 blocks in one season. She led the Wildcats to back-to-back Sweet 16 apperances at the 1993 and 1994 NCAA tournaments. A four-year starting middle blocker from 1990-1994, she earned All-Pac 10 and All West-Region honors as a senior and still holds school records for career (117) and single match (8) solo blocks.


Ryan Windisch- Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach

Coach Ryan Windisch will be entering his 1st season as an Assistant Coach at the University of Arizona. He has previously worked for Irvine Valley College as the Head Women’s Indoor and Beach Volleyball Coach. Coach Ryan played for the Long Beach State Men’s Team from 2012-2015. He specializes in working with passers and setters but has great knowledge of the game!
